Cobramus is a 100% online debt collection platform built for Spanish freelancers (autónomos) and SMEs. It streamlines the entire unpaid invoice recovery process — from uploading a claim and sending a certified legal notice, to filing judicial procedures — all without the client needing to set foot in a courtroom. With over 5,200 freelancers served and 180,000+ unpaid invoices processed, the platform needed a frontend that matched the complexity and trust demands of a legal-financial product.

The Challenge

Debt recovery is a sensitive, multi-step process with real legal and financial stakes for users. The frontend needed to clearly communicate each stage of a claim — from submission to resolution — while building enough trust for users to hand over sensitive invoice and financial data. Payment flows, dashboard state management, and a clean service presentation all had to work seamlessly together.

What I Built

The entire frontend was built with Next.js and TypeScript, delivering a fast, type-safe application across all user-facing surfaces:

  • Marketing and service pages — built the landing and services pages presenting Cobramus's full offering: extrajudicial claims, certified burofax notices, monitorio (court) procedures, VAT recovery, and rental default claims — structured to convert skeptical first-time visitors into active users
  • Client dashboard — developed the personal account dashboard where clients can submit new claims, upload invoices, and track real-time status updates across all their active and resolved cases
  • Invoice upload flow — implemented the multi-step claim submission flow, guiding users from invoice upload through claim type selection and confirmation
  • Stripe integration — integrated Stripe for payment processing, handling the fee model tied to successful debt recovery and managing the checkout flow within the Next.js app
  • TypeScript throughout — enforced strict typing across components, API calls, and data models, reducing runtime errors in a domain where data integrity is critical

Outcome

A production-ready frontend for a legal-financial SaaS platform operating in the Spanish market — fast, trustworthy, and capable of guiding both individual freelancers and SME finance teams through a complex multi-step debt recovery process entirely online.
